A special mention needs to go to two yr 7 students who raised over £50 each, Amber Butterey and Josh Bray.

We would also like to say a massive thank you to all the students who raised money and to the family and friends who donated.

MANSFIELD YOUTH VOICE THEIR OPINIONS
by Boaden Ms S - Thursday, 15 July 2010, 02:00 PM

Mansfield Learning PartnershipMansfield Learning Partnership (MLP) hosted a Youth Conversation event at the Civic Centre on Wednesday 7 July.  Mansfield Youth Mayor, Leah Wright, a student at the Manor School, welcomed young people to the event to discuss their views on post-16 education and training.

MLP is a partnership between all secondary schools in Mansfield, West Nottinghamshire College and other training and education providers such as Education Business Futures (EBF, formerly NEBA).  They work together to ensure young people get high quality learning opportunities which inspire them to achieve their potential and prepares them for a working environment.

The focus of the Youth Conversation was to talk to young people about their experiences in their first year of post-16 education and training, including the choice of courses on offer, work experience and job opportunities, quality of information and guidance they received, and the overall quality of their learning experience.  They, in turn, provided feedback and  their views on educational topics, which could make a difference to future generations and shape the Youth Agenda for Mansfield.

Berni Dickinson, director of MLP said “The event was a wonderful opportunity to bring young people together, from a range of post 16 providers, across the Mansfield Learning Partnership.  By partners working together, we will have a greater impact on young people’s education and training experience.  The majority of young people who participated in the Youth Conversation are 6th formers at Mansfield schools.   The Mansfield schools work together to offer a collaborative 6th Form provision, ensuring that young people can choose from a wider range of provision based on the strengths across the school partnership.”

Maths & I-Tea Party
by Boaden Ms S - Monday, 12 July 2010, 04:09 PM

Photo

On Friday 9th July we held a Maths & I-Tea party for all the pupils and their parents from years 2 to 5 from our family of primary schools.  The party was to celebrate the work that has taken place throughout the year and that all pupils have been involved in.

Mr Davey did an excellent job with face painting, Ms Hudson took some parents back a few years with a Maths quiz and Miss Noone showcased various IT activities.  We also had tower building and lots of party food.

Thank you to everyone that came to the event, i am sure you will agree it was a very enjoyable, and very hot, afternoon.
